A shop window, not a marketplace
Poazz is a product discovery magazine. We look through retailer catalogues, pick out the things worth a second glance, and write plainly about them — with the price, the source and the caveats in plain sight.
What Poazz is
Poazz walks through retailer catalogues — the big marketplaces and the specialist shops — and pulls out the things that are actually interesting: a well-made object at a fair price, an unusual find, a discontinued model worth knowing about. Each one gets a short editorial write-up in our own words.
We are not a review site. We do not test products, we do not score them, and we do not ask readers to rate them. What we publish is a description and a judgement: this is worth a look, and here is why.
How we pick
Every product that reaches this site is assessed before it is written up. Completeness counts: no price, no image or no category is a problem we would rather fix than paper over. Duplicates are caught and merged. Products that disappear from the retailer, or whose price we have not seen in a long time, are dropped or marked rather than quietly left up.
The assessment is advisory. It ranks and explains; it never publishes anything on its own, and it never overrides a human being. A product goes live when an editor approves the writing and a publisher signs it off.
How the writing is produced
Poazz uses a generation system to draft copy quickly, and it is built so that it can only ever work from facts the catalogue actually holds. The generator is handed a defined inventory of facts, claims and opinions and is not allowed to mention anything outside it. Drafts are then validated: prices, discounts, ratings, review counts, awards, availability and specifications are all checked for grounding, and a draft that invents one of them fails and is quarantined.
No draft reaches this site unvalidated, and every published description keeps a record of the draft, the model that produced it and the validation result behind it.
How prices are treated
- We show a price only while we have seen it recently. When our record of a price goes stale, the page asks you to check the current price at the retailer instead of showing a number we cannot stand behind.
- A saving is ours only when our own history proves it. We need a run of our own observations, over a real period of time, to call something a Poazz-verified saving.
- A retailer’s “was” price stays theirs. When a shop claims a product was once more expensive, we can repeat the claim with their name on it — and we say plainly that we have not verified it.
- We never invent a discount. There is no rounding-up, no “up to 70% off” theatre, no countdown clock.
What we will not publish
- Star ratings, review scores or review counts we cannot verify.
- Awards, certifications or “editor’s choice” claims that nobody granted us.
- “In stock” when the retailer has not told us anything.
- Specifications we inferred rather than read from the listing.
How we make money
When you buy through a link on this site, the retailer pays Poazz a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it does not influence what we write. Retailers cannot pay to be featured, and no one can buy a place in a “why we picked it” note. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
